About Me
I’m a Helsinki based digital media designer, with 25+ years of experience in the field.
I strongly believe that you have to start the design process from a content and user perspective, then define the concept and technology that convey the experience to the target audience.
This approach has led me to work with a wide range of topics and technologies; ranging from online services and apps, to chatbots and podcasting. I have extensive experience of working with museums and NGOs, but most recently, startups focusing on consumer technology and services.
My work consists of concepting, UX & UI design, branding and visual design as well as putting together teams and leading them through the design process to the final product. Communications skills are vital in this work, as all parties must share a joint vision of the goal we are trying to reach together. I thrive when I get to work with talented developers as the fluidity of execution makes technology invisible, letting the user totally focus on the experience being conveyed.
I’ve graduated from UIAH Media Lab (now part Aalto University) in 2000, after my studies in protography lead me to digital imaging and interactive media.
Being dyslexic, I enjoy working with projects that use sound to convey stories.
In my free time I carry rocks around on an island in the Porkkala archipelago, in an effort to create an edible permaculture garden.
